There are plenty of quality apps for photo and video editing Chromebooks use. I am wondering if I can install Photoshop using Linux as well. I just think people need to research what Chromebooks can and cannot do before buying one.

However, if the school is making use of web browser-based resources to teach online, then a Chromebook should be fine as it comes with Chrome, which is perfectly good for that and if Google Classroom is being used, the best option. The best thing to do would be to check with the school how they plan to deliver their teaching and take it from there.
